STEP 1: SEE IF YOU MAY BE A CANDIDATE

Take the 60-Sec Eligibility Quiz

What to Expect When Getting Dental Implants in Westbury

"Teeth in a Day®" is a common method of doing dental implants you may see elsewhere. It typically means temporary teeth at surgery, with permanent teeth following months later.

The good news is that Nuvia's process skips the temporary phase entirely. Here's what getting a new smile at Nuvia looks like instead.

1. Your Consultation After you take the 60-second quiz, you’ll have a consultation scheduled. The team takes a CT scan of your jaw and walks through your options. You'll also work with your restorative dentist on how your permanent teeth will look. You leave knowing whether you're a candidate and what your next steps are.

2. Surgery Day When you come in to get your dental implants, you’ll have three providers taking care of you: your oral surgeon, your restorative dentist, and a CRNA. The moment surgery ends, Nuvia's in-house lab starts building your permanent teeth so they’re ready for you the next day.

3. Your Permanent Zirconia Teeth — 24 Hours Later You return the next day and leave with permanent zirconia teeth — no temporary set, no months of waiting. Most other providers send patients home in acrylic temporaries and deliver permanent teeth months later. That won’t be your experience at Nuvia.

4. Healing & Long-Term Care Most patients are back to light activity within a few days — family dinners, Westbury's food scene, daily life without planning around your teeth. The team monitors your healing throughout at a 2 week and a 4 week follow up appointment.

Ready to get started? Take the 60-second quiz here to see if you may be a candidate.

Cost Comparison: Dentures vs Dental Implants?

When weighing dentures against dental implants, the upfront numbers can make dentures look like the smarter choice. But the truth can be found looking a little further into the future.

Dentures often need relining every year or two and are recommended to be replaced every seven to ten years. In this time you’re likely to be buying adhesives, going back for adjustments, and managing a solution that was never designed to be permanent. By the time you've gone through two or three sets, the math on the denture vs dental implant cost comparison looks very different.

Here's what doesn't always come up in the denture conversation. Without a root in your jaw, the bone is likely to slowly shrink. Over time, that can change the shape of your face — what people call the sunken look. If you later decide on implants, that bone loss may require grafting before the procedure. Waiting doesn't save money. For a lot of people, it costs more than the one time investment in dental implants that are designed to be permanent.

When you're comparing dentures vs dental implants, the question isn't just what you're paying today. It's what you're paying for the rest of your life.

FAQs About Nuvia Dental Implants in Westbury

Dr. Preston Hansen, Oral Surgeon & Chief Clinical Officer, answers some of the most common questions about Nuvia's Permanent Teeth in 24hrs.

Learn More

Are dental implants safe?

Yes. Dental implants are made from medical-grade titanium and have been safely used in the body for decades. More on dental implant safety here.

What are the advantages of dental implants?

Dental implants with permanent teeth look, feel, and function like natural teeth — no slipping, no adhesives, and no dietary restrictions or drawbacks that other solutions to missing teeth may come with.

Can dentures be made into implants?

Dental implants are a screw-like device that attach to a set of fake teeth. Traditional methods of doing dental implants do often involve creating a set of teeth from an acrylic denture to attach to dental implants. These are often referred to as temporary teeth. Nuvia does not do temporary teeth, instead patients get their permanent set of zirconia teeth 24 hours after surgery.

Are dental implants removable?

No — full mouth dental implants are permanently fixed in place, so you never have to take them out or deal with messy adhesives again. They are designed to feel and function like natural teeth.

How much do dental implants cost in Westbury, NY?

Dental implant cost varies by case, and though full mouth dental implants are an investment, they can still be affordable. Nuvia offers financing options, and the 24-hour timeline does not increase cost. Pricing is in line with industry standards — Nuvia's cost guide covers what to expect in more detail.

What is the difference between All-on-4® and Teeth in a Day®?

"Teeth in a Day®" typically means temporary teeth at surgery, with permanent teeth coming months later. At Nuvia, the in-house lab starts building your permanent zirconia teeth the moment surgery ends. You return 24 hours later and leave with your permanent set.

Am I a candidate for dental implants if I've been told I have bone loss?

Bone loss doesn't automatically rule you out. The Westbury team regularly treats patients with bone loss, including cases other practices have declined. The first step is to take the 60-second quiz to see if you may be eligible but your consultation will confirm whether All-on-4® dental implants are right for you.
