Meet Your Doctors in Alexandria

In most dental practices, sedation is handled separately — referred out or offered as an additional service. When you're looking for an implant dentist in Northern Virginia, that difference matters.

At Nuvia in Alexandria, a CRNA is on every case. Their only job is your safety and comfort throughout surgery. Your oral surgeon handles precise placement. Your restorative dentist builds permanent teeth designed to fit your bite and last. Three providers, three defined roles — each focused entirely on their part of your care.

Dr. Chin Kim, DDS

Dr. Chin Kim is a multilingual dentist, speaking Korean, Spanish, and English fluently, currently practicing at the Nuvia Dental Center in Alexandria. Born in Korea, Dr. Kim moved to Mexico when she was just five years old. There, she grew up, developed her passion for the medical field, and pursued dental school. This international upbringing has equipped her with a diverse cultural understanding, making her an empathetic and understanding professional.

As a high school student, Dr. Kim served as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), further cementing her desire to help others. However, it was the smiles and facial expressions that drew her towards dentistry. She recognized how the first thing we notice about people is their face, and she wanted to be a part of enhancing and preserving that. Dr. Kim's love for dentistry only grew during her dental school years, as she realized that the profession was a perfect blend of science, art, and health care provision.

Dr. Kim's patient care philosophy is deeply personal and rooted in empathy. She has developed a special bond with elderly patients, often reminded of her own grandfather during interactions with them. Her primary motivation is giving these patients a second chance at joy - restoring their dental function and aesthetics, enabling them to eat and speak comfortably again, and boosting their self-confidence.

Beyond her technical skills, Dr. Kim brings emotional sensitivity to her practice. She's often moved by the transformational journeys of her patients and is not averse to sharing a joyful tear with them. She believes that her work doesn't just restore smiles but gives people their lives back, which she considers the greatest joy of her profession.

Dr. Kim ensures that her patients have a comfortable and supportive experience under her care. She understands the hesitation some may feel about dental procedures and prioritizes making her patients feel at ease. She emphasizes that her goal is not just to treat, but also to educate and empower her patients regarding their dental health.

STEP 1: SEE IF YOU MAY BE A CANDIDATE

What to Expect When Getting Dental Implants in Alexandria

Most traditional implant processes take months and involve temporary teeth along the way. At Nuvia's Alexandria center, permanent teeth are ready in 24 hours. Here's what the process looks like.

1. Your Consultation The team reviews your oral health, scans your jaw, and walks you through your options. You'll know before you leave whether you're a candidate and what your path forward looks like.

2. Smile Design If you're moving forward, you'll work with your restorative dentist on how your teeth will look. Your permanent teeth are custom-built for your face, your jaw, and your bite.

3. Surgery Day Your oral surgeon places the implants while a CRNA manages your comfort throughout. The moment surgery ends, Nuvia's in-house lab begins building your permanent teeth.

4. Your Permanent Teeth — 24 Hours Later You return the next day. Your permanent set is ready. You leave with permanent teeth — no temporary set, no waiting period.

Patients come from Alexandria, Arlington, Springfield, Annandale, and Del Ray. Nuvia's success rate is {{success_rate}} (per company data). Other large studies report traditional implant methods success rates ranging from 93.3% to 98%.

The Benefits of a New Smile

Living with missing or failing teeth can impact much more than what your smile looks like. It can affect what you eat, how you speak, and even how you feel about yourself.

Prior to getting a new smile, many patients avoided social situations, struggled with loose dentures, or suffered through daily discomfort.

Dental implants don’t just replace teeth—they restore confidence and bring back the freedom to eat, laugh, and live without worrying about teeth.

At Nuvia Alexandria, patients experience:

  • Improved Oral Health – Dental implants prevent bone loss and help keep your facial structure intact.
  • A Fully Functional Smile – Enjoy steak, fresh apples, and all your favorite foods again.
  • A Life Without Denture Hassles – Those who settle for a temporary solution like dentures often experience frustrations with adhesives, slipping dentures, or needing frequent adjustments. Not with dental implants!

If you’re in Alexandria, Del Ray, Annandale, or nearby, a new smile is closer than you think.

Cost Comparison: Dentures vs Dental Implants

The upfront cost of dentures is lower. But that’s likely where the financial advantage ends.

Dentures need to be replaced every five to ten years. Between replacements, regular relining, adhesives, and dental adjustments the maintenance cost adds up over a decade. For many patients, the lifetime total exceeds the one-time cost of implants.

There's also a less obvious cost that doesn't get discussed enough. Dentures don't replace the root, so the jawbone loses density over time. If a denture wearer later decides to get implants, that bone loss may require grafting first. Delaying the decision to switch from dentures to dental implants can put patients at risk of a more expensive procedure down the road.

When comparing the cost of Nuvia dental implants to other providers, the in-house lab changes the math. Most traditional implant centers outsource lab work, which adds a cost they pass on to patients. Nuvia's lab is on-site. That's part of why the 24-hour timeline is possible. It's also part of why pricing stays in line with industry standards even with patients getting their teeth months earlier compared to traditional methods.

FAQs About Nuvia Dental Implants in Alexandria

How is Nuvia different from other dental implant centers in Alexandria? A licensed CRNA is on every Nuvia case — most implant centers don't include dedicated anesthesia care as a standard part of the procedure. Nuvia's in-house lab also means permanent teeth are ready within 24 hours of surgery. Most providers send patients home in temporary teeth and complete the process months later.

How much do dental implants cost in Alexandria, VA? Full mouth dental implants are a significant investment, and cost varies by case. Nuvia offers financing options to make dental implants affordable. The 24-hour timeline does not increase cost — pricing is in line with industry standards.

How long does it take to get dental implants? At Nuvia, the process from surgery to permanent teeth takes 24 hours. Most traditional approaches used elsewhere involve months of healing with temporary teeth before the permanent set is placed.

Can I get dental implants if I have bone loss? Bone loss doesn't automatically disqualify you — the Alexandria team regularly treats cases other practices have declined. Your eligibility is determined at your consultation, where the team reviews your jaw and health history.

Does Nuvia accept insurance or offer financing in Alexandria? Most dental insurance plans have limited or no coverage for full mouth dental implants. However, Nuvia offers financing options, and the team can walk you through what applies to your case at your consultation.
