Vicky is a much loved mother by her daughter, Becky.
Becky watched as her mother went through root canal after root canal, leading up to extraction after extraction, longing for something better for her mom. She loved her mom and didn’t like to see her struggle with her teeth.
After a long road of trying to save her teeth, and in a partial denture, Vicky struggled with losing hope for a better future.
To say that Vicky didn’t like her partial denture would be a gross understatement. Just talking about the crude device made her tear up.
We knew that Vicky needed our help to fix her dental problems for good.
Becky had actually worked in the dental field for over a decade before she sent her mother to Nuvia Dental Implant Center for full mouth dental implants.
"MY TEMPORARY TEETH ARE ANNOYING AND HAVE BEEN THE WHOLE TIME..." Vicky shared with us through regretful tears.
Sadly, this is all too common. A lot of people are told that dentures can solve the problem of missing teeth only to find out, after spending a substantial amount of money and time, that dentures aren’t even close to their natural teeth.
What partial dentures do is that they cause more bone loss in the area. And it also feels as if you are biting on plates rather than biting on individual teeth.” Dr. Haroon went on to explain,
“She also complained about having some sinus trouble and some breathing problems because of some of the teeth that she had. There were some abscesses on the apices [roots] of her teeth.
So some of the problems that can arise from not having your back teeth is, first of all, it affects your quality of life because you can't really chew and grind down your food, and swallow it properly.
Secondly, it also causes flaring of your teeth in the front because now all the pressure and the forces are on the teeth in the front.
In her case, we're planning to angle the implants to avoid the sinuses and place four implants, which will provide enough stability to give her a fixed prosthesis."
Vicky came in for surgery at Nuvia Dental Implant Center and everything went off without a hitch. Vicky’s surgery was successful, and she was ready to get her permanent teeth 24 hours after surgery.
Watch to see her touching reveal of her new smile.
And unlike her partial dentures, Vicky loved her new teeth.
After the surgery, Dr. Haroon told us what happened. “Vicky had some teeth in the front of her mouth that were infected. After we removed those teeth, we cleaned out the abscess and it opened up her airway. She expressed to us how much better she can breathe now.”
Believe it or not, we get this response a lot more than you might think. A lot of patients who have difficulty breathing through their nose find it much easier to breathe after surgery.
This could be for a variety of reasons like infection and swelling as Dr. Haroon was telling us.
After being asked what she wanted to say to all prospective Nuvia patients, Dr. Haroon said, “Thank you all for putting that faith and trust in us.”
We stand right behind her and want to share our heartfelt gratitude that our patients trust us enough to keep sending their friends, families, and loved ones to Nuvia to get their lives back.
Vicky was no exception. She even told us:
"What I love most about my teeth is everything. Mostly, that they're permanent. I don't have that pain from my teeth anymore.. I smile now… I wouldn't even smile before. I like showing my teeth now.”
Now for the real test: Becky, Vicky’s daughter who is a dental professional, said this about Nuvia, "You're treated like a person, not a number. It's not mechanical, the bedside manner is amazing. My mom absolutely loves it here...
After everything that she's been through to see her smile again, it's priceless. It's absolutely priceless."
