Darren’s Top 3 Benefits of Dental Implants
So what all does Darren love about his dental implants? In his video above he lists 3 benefits of dental implants that make every downside completely worth it. Starting with benefit #3…
Health Benefits of Dental Implants
“My teeth have never been whiter. I love to smile. I love to talk to people. I don’t have this barrier where I try to hide my face when I talk”.
As many others can relate, Darren felt he had to hide his teeth when he talked or smiled. Not only did dental implants restore the look of his teeth giving him the bright, white smile he loves, his new teeth came with health benefits too.
“I feel confident because I didn’t have halitosis anymore. I didn’t have the pain from the holes in my teeth. I could chew properly… it was night and day”.
The benefits of dental implants aren’t just aesthetic. Darren no longer has to deal with dental pain or dental health issues that impacted his everyday life.
Compliments
“They tell me I have beautiful teeth. I don’t know if they’re hitting on me or they really like my teeth but either way, I really like the compliments!”
As Darren and his wife are out, they enjoy the compliments, especially as they both know the journey he went through to restore his smile. As he reflects on these times, he shares, “even my relationship with my wife has gotten better”.
Permanent Teeth in 24 Hours
Permanent teeth in 24 hours was Darren’s number 1 benefit of dental implants.
Traditional methods of getting dental implants usually involve a temporary set of teeth that patients wear for what may be up to 10+ months before they finally get their permanent teeth.
Not at Nuvia. Darren was able to get his permanent teeth 24 hours after his dental implants were placed.
“I smoked for 45 years, I ruined my teeth. This was a second chance of happiness for me… I just wish Nuvia was around sooner and I could have gotten my teeth 2 or 3 years ago instead of a little over a year ago”.
Darren is not alone in his wish to have been able to get his new teeth sooner. Many patients share that they regret putting off their needs and not enjoying the benefits of dental implants years before they finally did.
What He Didn’t Love About Dental Implants
Despite the life changing benefits of dental implants, not every step of the process is enjoyable. The adjustment and healing period comes with some temporary downsides like those that Darren mentions.
Here are the top 3 things Darren didn’t love about his dental implants
His Teeth Did Not Fit Right Away
When Darren first got his permanent set of teeth, they weren’t a perfect fit.
“They didn’t come back the way they were supposed to. When they put them in my mouth, I was biting my cheeks. I couldn't chew properly… I expressed the problems I was having, they took care of it right away - I was shocked!”
Though this is not common, it can happen. If the fit isn’t perfect right away, patients are encouraged to let their provider know so the issue can be resolved immediately.
Darren let his Nuvia team know about the issues he had and was able to get a new set of teeth that were the right fit at no extra cost. If something isn’t right about your smile, Nuvia is there to help.
As Darren puts it, “If you do have an issue, Nuvia is there to take care of it”.
Speech Challenges
One of the temporary challenges that some patients encounter after getting their dental implants is some minor speech issues.
Darren noticed that with his new teeth he would whistle or slur his words. Although this was not pleasant, it didn’t last long before he was able to adapt to speaking with his new teeth.
“Your teeth are going to be like a new car. You don’t know where all the switches are. You have to kind of look for everything while you’re driving for the first time... The thing is you’ll get past all of that.”
Darren’s analogy of new teeth being like a new car is something that many patients have experienced.
The SML MKR club, a Facebook group for those who have gotten dental implants or are thinking about it, is a great place to find tips from others on what practices they did to help their brain adjust to speaking with new teeth.

Dental Implant Cost - Worth the Benefits of Dental Implants
Darren explains the number one bad to dental implants is the cost.
“I get it. I know cost is a big thing. But Nuvia has this great cost guide… It doesn’t cost you anything to just look”.
Dental implants are an investment in yourself, your lifestyle, and in many cases, your health. Darren loves that he was able to set up a payment plan and knows what the cost will be each month.
