A native of LA County, he began his college education at UC San Diego for undergraduate studies, before completing his dental education at UCLA. Dr. Shaaban first lived in the US as a high school exchange student. It was during this time that he fell in love with the Midwest and would return to the States frequently in the following years. It was during the 4th year being in the US that he met his wife.  Once he completed his dental training and became certified and licensed as a restorative dentist, he practiced in the Midwest. Although he loves the midwestern states, he and his family eventually moved to California seeking a warmer climate.

Although he no longer coaches his children’s soccer teams, he enjoys watching them play on local soccer club teams. He also enjoys camping, road trips, biking, and other fast-paced sports.
