A native of LA County, he began his college education at UC San Diego for undergraduate studies, before completing his dental education at UCLA. His commitment to mastering his craft saw him through a general residency at the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center where he provided care to patients with developmental and physical disabilities.  He then returned to UCLA for an advanced prosthodontics residency program and an additional year of maxillofacial prosthetics.
