Dr. Walter D. Thames

Dr. Alhashim is a Board Certified Prosthodontist with more than 15 years of experience in the dental field.

He completed his residency in prosthodontics at Rutgers University, New Jersey. Dr. Alhashim is an avid cyclist and enjoys running, as well. After years of working in private practice and academia, both nationally and internationally, he was thrilled to join the Nuvia team in 2022 and provide not just dental implants, but permanent teeth in 24 hours.

Dr. Mohan was born and raised in India, where he started his career in dentistry. Wanting to specialize in restorative dentistry, specifically dental implants, Dr. Mohan moved to the United States in 2012.

Dr. Mohan loves working at Nuvia because the processes and technology used to deliver dental implants is unlike anything he had seen or studied in the history of dentistry before. Dr. Mohan finds passion in being able to deliver the perfect shape, color, and material of teeth to his patients in just 24 hours after surgery. He feels this is something that will change the face of dentistry and is excited to be involved in the innovation of dentistry while working with Nuvia.

Dr. Mohan lives with his wife, daughter, and mother - and he loves being able to spend time with his family.

Dr. Jeffrey Oyama is a restorative dentist in Fullerton who completed the bulk of his training locally in California. A native of LA County, he began his college education at UC San Diego for undergraduate studies, before completing his dental education at UCLA. His commitment to mastering his craft saw him through a general residency at the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center where he provided care to patients with developmental and physical disabilities.  He then returned to UCLA for an advanced prosthodontics residency program and an additional year of maxillofacial prosthetics.

Dr. Oyama's professional path is marked by significant achievements, including owning a practice and, more recently, dedicating his expertise to teaching full-time at a local dental school.

Dr. Oyama has found fulfillment in being a restorative dentist in Fullerton as he has seen how dental health can have a great impact on an individual's overall quality of life. He is particularly moved by the stories of patients who have struggled with dental issues for years who find new life and greater confidence in restoring their smile with dental implants..

Outside of the Clinic

When Dr. Oyama isn’t at the office as a restorative dentist he can likely be found doing photography, yoga, hiking, or a variety of outdoor activities. He is a firm believer in the importance of physical fitness and mental well-being, and loves to exercise.

Dr. James was born in Saint Lucia and grew up in South Carolina where he was an athletic and social kid. He has always been interested in art and the medical field. It wasn’t until his senior year of college studying Biology at the University of Georgia that he realized he could pair his love of art and medicine with dentistry. A career in dentistry, and especially as a dental implant doctor would be just the way to mix these two passions. After the University of Georgia, Dr. James attended medical college in Augusta, Georgia.

During his time as a restorative dentist and dental implant doctor, Dr. James has enjoyed serving others in other countries who have dental needs but not the means to receive treatment. He has gone on various humanitarian trips to Honduras, Nicaragua, Brazil, and India to do dental work for those in need.

Why Nuvia

Dr James was drawn towards Nuvia’s innovative process of restoring smiles through dental implants. Prior to Nuvia he had done full mouth restoration dentistry for many years. Dr. Njoku serves with the Nuvia team in Fort Worth, Texas. She grew up in Atlanta, GA where she came to love the diverse cultures of others as well as her family’s Nigerian culture and roots. She has always been driven by a desire to help others and give back. It was this passion for helping people that changed her career path from one in political science to one that would lead to her becoming a dental implant doctor.

After seeing such a need for dental services on a mission trip to Atlanta, GA, Dr. Njoku attended dental school at the University of Maryland. There, she trained in restorative dentistry and gained experience to become a dental implant doctor in Fort Worth, where she moved soon after finishing school and has been practicing ever since.

Dr. Njoku loves Nuvia’s innovative approach to helping patients transform their smiles. She loves all the benefits that come from full mouth dental implants and especially that patients can get their permanent teeth in 24 hours. Having worked with patients in the past who relied on dentures, she confidently shares her love of dental implants and what they can offer those who are missing teeth.

Personal Life

When outside of the clinic, Dr. Njoku can be found playing tennis, doing crafts, or occasionally running. As an avid traveler and foodie, Dr. Njoku loves exploring the world and different types of cuisine and cultures. Her passion for food extends to a love of cooking and connecting with others through the food she makes.

Dr. Tudor Stiharu is a distinguished oral and maxillofacial surgeon dedicated to providing the highest level of care to patients at Nuvia in Minneapolis. In becoming an oral surgeon in Minneapolis, Dr. Stiharu completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the University of Minnesota, following an internship at the University of Pennsylvania and a General Practice Residency at Rochester General Hospital. He earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Montreal, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Natural Sciences.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of both the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, Dr. Stiharu is board-certified in his specialty in both the United States and Canada. His professional commitments extend to serving on the Board of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry Alumni Society, being an active member of the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and directing the Twin Cities  International Team for Implantology Study Club.

Personal Life

Outside of being an oral surgeon, Dr. Stiharu is a devoted family man, cherishing moments with his wife, Holly, and their daughters and son. He is passionate about rowing, lifelong learning, and continuing his financial education, embodying a commitment to personal growth and family values.
