Dr. Livia Barros, Restorative Dentist in Jacksonville

Dr Barros’ love of both the arts and the sciences is what drew her to dentistry. Her decision to be a dentist was reaffirmed by the opportunity she had to shadow another dentist. Since then, she knew it was the career for her.

Dr. Barros’ education and studies included an emphasis on restorative dentistry though she has also completed a residency in general dentistry. 

‍

It’s always been important to keep improving herself, something she has continued to do since she first started practicing dentistry in 2007. With her extensive experience and passion for helping others, Dr. Barros is a wonderful part of the Nuvia team in Jacksonville.

Outside of Dentistry

In her free time Dr. Barros enjoys reading, going to the gym and hanging out with family and friends. She loves hosting Brazilian barbecues for her loved ones, hiking and being outside.

With several family members working in dentistry, Dr. John Addison was drawn to pursue a career in the field. His passion for dentistry has been fueled by his own experience needing restorative dental procedures after having his front teeth broken in a bike accident.

Dr. Addison first attended Northwestern University in Chicago, followed by dental school in Boston. In his 13 years practicing dentistry he has completed thousands of restorative cases and mastered a wide range of skills.

‍

Now as the restorative dentist at Nuvia’s Jacksonville center, he loves that he can be totally focused on transforming smiles with dental implants.

With his own experience needing restorative dentistry to repair his smile, Dr. Addison knows what it is like to feel limited and worried about his smile and is able to relate to his patients. He is dedicated to giving great care and is incredibly detail oriented. You can trust your smile is in great, experienced hands with Dr. Addison.

Outside of the Office

When Dr Addison isn’t in the office, he loves to spend time with his wife and three children and be outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, playing sports, or enjoying a waterpark he and his family love staying active and having a good time with one another.
