Jeff first noticed problems with his teeth when his front teeth become discolored. Then, slowly, they started deteriorating. They lost their strength and became chipped. With chipped front teeth, Jeff became more and more self-conscious.
“With my wife being hearing impaired, I’m around a lot of deaf people here and there, and they are very visual. So they are focused on you, looking straight at you, so they notice everything about you.”
He also felt uncomfortable during family events when everyone started taking pictures.
“You just get so conscientious when the cameras are around. You know, people want to take pictures. You do the cheesy grin, but not the smile. And then your family would say, ‘come on Jeff, Smile!’ And you’d still just do the grin with no teeth… ‘Come on, show some teeth’, And no, I can’t do that”.
“You know, I’ve got to do something. I’ve GOT to do something. When’s that day coming? And you know what, for me, today’s the day.”
The process of getting full mouth dental implants is pretty simple. After the dental implant surgery, Nuvia’s lab mills a custom set of permanent teeth to fit Jeff’s new implants. The teeth are milled and completed overnight, so that they can be placed within 24 hours of the surgery. So, Jeff came in to the Dallas office for his dental implant surgery, went home for the night, and the next morning came back for his permanent teeth to be placed.
When he came back on the second day, Jeff said, “Well, it’s been 24 hours since my surgery, and I’m ready to see what my new smile will look like… I want to smile. I want it to be big. I want them to know I’m happy and I’m enjoying life.”
“I thought it was really cool that in 24 hours I could actually have the teeth I needed for the rest of my life. And this is what I like about Nuvia.”
