Meet Dr. Samuel Tack, one of Nuvia’s experienced oral surgeons in Chevy Chase, MD and Alexandria, VA.
About
Dr. Tack's interest in dentistry started from a young age when his mother knocked out one of her teeth. He recalls being filled with the desire to take care of her and help her get her smile back.
This experience sparked his pursuit of a career as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon so he could have the opportunity to help others with missing or failing teeth to transform their smiles.
After attending dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University, he pursued a six year training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and got his medical degree at Stony Brook University.
He later returned to Virginia Commonwealth University to teach as an assistant professor in the department of oral surgery.
As someone who is passionate about helping people transform their smiles, Dr. Tack assures his patients both Chevy Chase, MD and Alexandria, VA that they can expect the same kind of care that he would give to any member of his family.
Dr. Tack and the staff at Nuvia are dedicated to creating a judgment free environment where every patient is treated with respect.
Outside of the office Dr. Tack loves spending time with his family, checking out new restaurants in the DC area and taking his dog to the park.
He is also an avid reader of nonfiction and autobiographical books and loves to watch mystery and thriller movies.
Our doctors are not just experts; they are visionaries in the field of dental implantology. With decades of surgical and restorative experience, and a passion for pioneering research, they are at the forefront of innovation.
Originally studying to be a physician, Dr. Osunsan got her start in dentistry almost by accident.
Her first experience with the dentist was in her 20s, having never gone when she was younger. She had a great experience and felt fresh, new, and clean. Although she had already set out to study medicine, she fell in love with dentistry soon after her appointment.
Dr. Osunsan completed a Bachelor's degree in Biology and pursued a graduate degree in Molecular Biology. She then attended Howard University for dental school.
After completing dental school and a year of residency at East Carolina University, she launched into her career as a restorative dentist where she has been practicing for the past 10 years.
Now, working as a restorative dentist at Nuvia’s Chevy Chase center, Dr. Osunsan’s goal is for all of her patients to feel happy, confident, and safe during their treatment.
She assures patients, especially those who are nervous about going to the dentist, that she is committed to working with them to be sure that they feel comfortable and at ease.
